Trypopoli (Full Scheme)

2 point perspective, colliding symmetries, and a whole lot of holes. Trypopoli was under construction for quite some time.

Trypopoli took a total of 41 hours to complete. The first goal was to make the simple 2 point perspective elements and the abstract elements work together, and the second goal was to get the collision between the two symmetries involved to a place where it felt cohesive. Trypopoli’s name is a bit on the nose as it comes from both the perspective elements and the custom 6px circle chain brush built for this piece. Each color was added with a rule under the pretense of rigidity, one can see the crimson’s constricting curves interloping with its boxy perspective base as one moves further from the 6 point symmetry center in the right-hand side of the piece, the ultra red and uranian blue falling to a similar fate as they form linear details to the elements of the perspective drawings before curving within those constrictions. The bisque yellow rounds out spaces of the muted blue sapphire background left untouched by the other colors but makes one loud break of its pattern (and Trypopoli’s global structure).

Below are a couple of my favorite color isolates and isolate combos from Trypopoli
